  • NO CHILDREN were born of the marriage, and the wife is not pregnant.
  • You are not seeking alimony.
  • Packet 1:
         You may have marital assets or marital debts, but agree as to the distribution.
         BOTH of you MUST attend the final hearing.
  • Packets 2-4: No marital assets or marital debts.


  • With Property
    PACKETS 5-7: OVERVIEW
    To select a packet in this category, the following must apply to your situation:

  • NO CHILDREN were born of the marriage, and the wife is not pregnant.
  • You may be seeking alimony.
  • You have marital assets and/or liabilities. Only the Petitioner MUST attend the court hearing.
  • You may agree, or disagree about property distribution, debts, or other matters and wish to      have a judge settle them for you.

    PACKETS 8-10: OVERVIEW
    To select a packet in this category, the following must apply to your situation:

  • You have CHILDREN under the age of 18 born of the marriage, or the wife is pregnant.


  • You've been served
    PACKETS 11-13: OVERVIEW
    You have 20 days to file an "Answer" after being served with the other party’s petition.

  • Every document you need to respond to your spouse's petition is included, whether you are in      agreement with everything in the petition, or not.
  • No attorney is necessary if you use this procedure, but you may wish to do so at any given      time prior to the court date to make sure your rights are protected.
  • You may be required to attend "Mediation" with your spouse, if you file an Answer which      disagrees with, or denies anything in the petition (a fee may be required in your county).
